Former Kaizer Chiefs coach Sergio dos Santos has questioned the club's decision to sign Colombian striker Efmamjjasond Gonzalez Palacios.

The 24-year-old has made just a handful of appearances for the Soweto giants since his arrival in mid-August, with dos Santos, who also played for Amakhosi stating that Gonzalez isn't the club's material.

dos Santos feels Chiefs are lacking upfront and wasn't impressed with Gonzalez when he made his debut against Mamelodi Sundowns.

dos Santos continued by questioning what Chiefs' recruitment saw in the young Colombian, criticising his ball control and shooting in particular.

Here's how the readers reacted to the "Ex-Chiefs coach: I don't know what they saw in Gonzalez" story:

"I do not want to judge the strikers yet because there is no service coming. If Gonzalez was missing all the chances, then I would agree with Dos Santos. Even if he is not good, Chiefs should focus on terminating the people who signed him first.

"There are people who are not good for Chiefs in the management team. They do not know anything about football players and Kaizer needs to go recruit someone like Screamer for our team. Screamer knows good talent, hence Pirates hardly get it wrong in recruiting," says khothakhosi.

"Eva Nga? Screamer got that RIGHT? Loaning out Mabasa to Swallows, Screamer got that one RIGHT?" replies mbeledumisani2.

"I remember telling some people here who know nothing about football that I saw Gonzalez's highlights and I knew that was not what Chiefs are looking for," says PS_GOITSE.

"Spot on. There is no striker in him. Should they ever gim him a penalty kick, he will miss it, terribly. Mark my words," says peter11664315.

"He's definitely Chiefs material. They just look at long names and that's enough for them. They even got a ban from FIFA because they just wanted someone with a name that can't be pronounced," says msanisto.

"My thoughts exactly...All flops," replies user137499.

"What a Cow, same as Ranga," says Zebra to hell.

"They saw height, physique, speed, acrobatic overhead kicks, and aggressiveness," says truthngezana1.

"The way Zwane and Ntseki view things is the same. Ntseki started out fine but things started changing, I don't know, but now Zwane and Ntseki are the same, 'useless'" says lwazihnzimande.

"He can make a good rugby player," says Saavedra.

Former Wydad Casablanca head coach Sven Vandenbroeck has joined the list of foreign coaches linked to the vacant head coach position at Kaizer Chiefs.

Amakhosi sensationally switched up their coaching staff on Monday by parting ways with Molefi Ntseki, replacing him with Head of Youth Development Academy, Cavin Johnson, on an interim basis.

Johnson will be assisted by Dillon Sheppard by the Chiefs hierarchy continue their search for a new coach. Their Belgian helped Wydad knock out Rulani Mokwena's Mamelodi Sundowns in the CAF Champions League last season and last coach CR Belouizdad in Algeria.

According to KickOff sources, over 100 applications have been sent to Chiefs since Ntseki's departure, with coaches in Spain and Portugal also strongly linked to the hot seat at Amakhosi.

Here's how the readers reacted to the "Foreign coach already linked with Kaizer Chiefs job" story:

"Give this guy a job," says mlekeleli.

"Well-rested and trophy-less Chiefs should just go for a foreign coach because they sure fail to pick the right South African for the job," says Zebra Butcher.

"At the start of the season they should have taken Nabi and many things would be good right now," says peter11664315.

"He is a no brainer," says mpsaul22.

"Different coaches, same players and same results. Chiefs' players need to pull up their socks," says mugwili.

"Bring them all, as long as an emperor and his family are still there, nothing will change," says His Majesty Yellow PSL Beast.

"Bobby Motaung said it very clearly, that Chiefs is a family business. So they are going nowhere," says Mavisto Downs Up.

"Every coach will be linked to the team until BOOOM; Cavin is appointed on a permanent basis," says Soccer Legend.

"Much appreciation to the legends that relentlessly fought to ensure Ntseki is fired," says Dr Mthimkhulu.

"Chiefs shall definitely win nothing this season because of the previous season's blinders and appointing new head coaches too often. Now they are like Chippa United," says matemane.
