Chiefs camp react to Mbule pleas?

Following an unofficial statement that Sipho Mbule was offered to Kaizer Chiefs, KickOff delves deep into the latest on what seems set to develop into a transfer story of great interest.

Mbule's contract was not renewed at parent club Mamelodi Sundowns, after a loan spell at Sekhukhune United during the past season came to an end.

This development has set tongues wagging, with Chiefs supporters calling for the club to sign the 27-year-old.

His agent, Mike Makaab, CEO of ProSport International, blew the story of the player's wish to join the Naturena-based side into a big talking point, after revealing on his X (Twitter) account he was offered to them.

Makaab, however, went on to apologize to Amakhosi for going public with such information and promised to take a break from social media.

This website has gathered information from different sources that the Soweto giants are considering signing the talented midfield man.

"Chiefs are considering Sipho Mbule, definitely. They are currently evaluating the risk of signing him," revealed a well-placed source.

"There is no decision yet (on opening formal talks). But they acknowledge 100 percent that he's a big talent.

"They are now looking at the pros and cons (of signing him), obviously the boy has (alleged) disciplinary issues. It's 50/50 at this stage. They might, or they might not (approach his agent)," added the source.

KickOff.com understands the Glamour Boys have the luxury of time to make a decision, as rivals Orlando Pirates appear not to be interested.

"A team that might take a chance on Mbule if Chiefs don't sign him is AmaZulu, because I was told Pirates are not considering him.

"It's a tricky one with this boy. If he plays, he can give you firepower. The only problem is you take a risk with his discipline. Has he turned the corner or not? You don't know where he is mentally.

"I think that's what Chiefs are looking at now, are they willing to risk? Because definitely he'll give them quality. The only problem is (if he misbehaves) because Chiefs is a big brand, you know," the source went on.
