'They'll be able to compete with Free Agents'

Former Kaizer Chiefs striker Thembinkosi Biyela believes that the underdog tag will help the side from Naturena scale greater heights in the Nedbank Cup this season.

Biyela, who wore the famous Gold and Black jersey in the 1990s, is confident in the abilities of young duo Mduduzi 'Mdu or Die' Shabalala and Mfundo 'Obrigado' Vilakazi to lead Chiefs to this year's final of the Nedbank Cup.

The Soweto giants will host minnows Free Agents FC in the Last 32 of the competition at the Calabash on Sunday.

Biyela expects the match to be an easy victory for South Africa's most supported club.

"Amakhosi are winning," declares the former striker, speaking to KickOff.com.

"Chiefs' advantage in Sunday's game lies in their young players. Only youngsters know how to beat other youngsters.

"The likes of Vilakazi and Shabalala will be able to compete with Free Agents pound-for-pound.

"The difference is that Chiefs' youngsters have more experience compared to the Free Agents ones, who are not used to playing in front of a large crowd," he adds.

The man who also featured for the likes of Ria Stars and Moroka Swallows, has also advised Nasreddine Nabi not to tinker with his line-up and to selected a balanced line-up for the encounter.

"He should learn from Orlando Pirates, who maintain a consistent line-up.

"Failing to beat Free Agents will surely demoralize Kaizer Chiefs. At the very least, they must reach the final.

"The 'underdog' tag in this cup competition will suit Chiefs just fine."
