The move turned out distrust as Chiefs fell to a 10th-place finish at the end of the season - their worst finish in the PSL era.

Chiefs are understood to have learnt from that grave mistake and are acting shrewedly behind the scenes to ensure that there are arrivals at the club in the current window.

The Soweto giants have reportedly stepped up their pursuit of prime target Oswin Appollis at Polokwane City and Fawaaz Basadien at Stellenbosch.

With the potential arrivals, Chiefs are also expected to loan out several of their players.

Winger Christian Saile - who is in desperate need of playing time - is top of the list, having fallen massively down the pecking order.

The 24-year-old is on the club loan-list and is expected to complete a move to either SuperSport United or Chippa United in the coming days. Additionally, Chiefs are looking to free up more foreign spots to make more signings.

Next on the list is Happy Mashiane, who has enjoyed slightly more improved playing time this season, but could use use some consistency to help find his feet.
