Former Kaizer Chiefs striker Serge Djiehoua fastest red card

The big Ivorian, who is now playing for Gylfadas in the Greek Second Division, came onto the pitch with his side trailing Olympiakos Volos 3-1.

He ran on with the clock at 82:23 and was given his marching orders at 82:30!

The dismissal – for a shove on Pindonis – looks extremely harsh, but the 30-year-old striker manages to see the funny side and leaves the pitch laughing his head off.

Djiehoua does not hold the record for fastest red card, however. That dubious accolade belongs Sheffield United's Keith Gillespie, who was sent off after zero seconds during a Premier League match against Reading in 2007.

Gillespie came on as a substitute and immediately elbowed Stephen Hunt in the face, seeing red before the game had even been restarted.

Fans may remember Djiehoua’s other infamous moment, when he was caught by TV cameras relieving himself behind the advertising boards at Loftus Stadium in a match against Mamelodi Sundowns back in 2011.

“Hey, it was bad man. I was not aware that the TV cameras caught me,” the then-Thanda Royal Zulu striker told snl24.com/kickoff at the time.

“It was the wrong thing to do in public and I apologise to anyone that felt offended. I promise it won’t happen again.”

That moment made snl24.com/kickoff’s list of the five most most bizarre things to happen on a South African soccer pitch!
