A former Asante Kotoko star has issued a strong warning to Kaizer Chiefs ahead of their highly anticipated Toyota Cup showdown.
The two teams are set to face off this Saturday at Moses Mabhida Stadium, as part of their pre-season preparations.

This will mark only the second encounter between the Ghanaian giants and the Soweto-based Chiefs. Their first meeting took place in 2001 during the Vodacom Challenge final, where Amakhosi triumphed 3-2 on penalties after a goalless draw.
This game will give a chance for the two sides to revive the rivalry and bring fresh excitement to fans of both clubs. Kotoko, two-time CAF Champions League winners, will be eager to make a statement against the South African heavyweights.
Meanwhile, the Toyota Cup itself debuted in 2024, with Nasreddine Nabi's new-look side hosting Tanzanian champions Young Africans SC in Bloemfontein.
Speaking ahead of the upcoming clash in Durban, Nkruma, now a respected voice amongst Kotoko faithful, expressed confidence in his former side’s ability to challenge Chiefs.
"I know Kaizer Chiefs is a big team, everyone on the continent respects them, but this match against Kotoko will not be a walkover," Nkrumah told KickOff.com.
"Kotoko are in form after their President’s Cup game against Accra Hearts of Oak [which they won 2-1]. Their performance was good in that game, so it will boost their confidence.

"Although Chiefs are big and better or even stronger than Kotoko, this is a match that will come down to who puts in the better effort on the day," he added.
"I wish both teams the best of luck, but Kotoko must win this one because they are capable of beating Chiefs. They have high quality attackers and can score from anywhere."
