A former Kaizer Chiefs star has linked the club's winning start to the Betway Premiership season with the pre-season camp in the Netherlands.
Chiefs showed resilience against a stubborn ten-man Stellenbosch FC as they walked off 2-0 Betway Premiership victors at Athlone Stadium on Sunday.

Nkosingiphile Ngcobo and Glody Lilepo found the back of the net for the Soweto giants at a sold-out affair.
"They played well in general, since it was the first game of the season. Stellies lost their balance when their player (Siviwe Nkwali) was sent off," Dominic Isaacs told KickOff.com.
"But I think also the atmosphere that was created by the Chiefs supporters at Athlone Stadium worked in Chiefs' favour. It pushed them to do better. The crowd can be intimidating, you know.
"It was a good result all in all. It was the first game of the season, but it is expected for a team like Chiefs to start their season with a win.
"Credit should also go to their pre-season preparations. If they wanted positive results in the pre-season friendlies, they could have easily played three friendly games in Botswana, two friendly games in Namibia, and lied to themselves.
"But they went to Europe and got tougher opponents. It's better to see the cracks in pre-season matches than doing so during the league,” he added.
The former centre-back believes the most important thing was to win the first game of the season.
“It's good if they maintain the momentum after a good start and a clean sheet," he added.

"And yes, we as followers are happy if Chiefs are doing well."
The Glamour Boys’ next challenge will come in the form of Polokwane City at FNB Stadium on Wednesday (19:30), in what promises to be another tough battle for three points.
