The look on the faces of majority of players at Kaizer Chiefs on Thursday told of the sorry state that the club has fallen into despite a few choosing to be brave when tasked with facing the media.
This website was the Chiefs' base in Naturena for the media day ahead of the game against SuperSport United.

With AmaKhosi having won just once in the last 10 games the tension in the sky was crispy and told of players just going through the motions with six games to play.
What is worse is the issue of players facing the uncertainty of contract renewals or being offloaded due to performance related reasons.
The obvious elephant in the room at Chiefs is Itumeleng Khune.
Khune is out of contract at the end of June and whatever happens next will be of interest.
The 36-year-old has only ever played for Chiefs in his career having arrived as a teenager breaking into the first team in 2004 before makig his senior debut three years later.
For all that he has won and done since his first match at Chiefs, Khune is now at crossroads.
Will he retire and take up a non-playing role at the club or will he choose to move to another club and prolong his playing career?
Whatever happens, it will be headline news.

The other high-profile subject of interest is Keagan Dolly who is reported to be the highest earner at the club.
Dolly's contract runs up at the end of June and is no better waters than Khune.
What Dolly has given Chiefs this season doesn't match his remuneration so it is likely that he will not be kept.
At best, Chiefs will hand a one-year deal with a lower package plugged with performance clauses.
The 31-year-old might not play again this season.

Mozambican defender Edmilson Dove is already pursuing other alternatives after having been met with silence in matters relating to a new deal.
Dove is into his second year at the club.
Though he has been solid, Dove has also been clumsy plus the club has Thatayaone Ditlhokwe back while Aiden McCarthy is now ripe and ready.
The club also has Xolani Cossa coming up the ranks as a left-footed centre back.
Njabulo Ngcobo's three-year deal runs up at the end of June and he has already been linked with AmaZulu.
For Sifiso Hlanti, his contract also expires in June, but he has an option of another year but is yet to be exercised pending other developments at the club.

Edson Castillo, Yusuf Maart, Nkosingiphile Ngcobo, Pule Mmodi, Mdu Shabalala, Sibongiseni Mthethwa, Mduduzi Mdantsane and Tebogo Potsane all have running contracts.
However, for Siyethemba Sithebe and Lehlogonolo Matlou there is uncertainty based on what they have done on the field.

Colombian striker Efmamjjasond Gonzalez is moving back to his parent club in Bolivia Real Santa Cruz after failing to justify why he was brought in on loan.
Ranga Chivaviro should survive the chop as he still has a contract just like Congolese forward Christian Saile Basomboli.
