Kaizer Chiefs have been handed a boost ahead of their crunch match against Mamelodi Sundowns with the return to action of several key players, plus an update on the head coach.
The Soweto giants have a perfect record of nine points from three league outings so far, and an acid test awaits, in the form of Sundowns, at the Calabash next Wednesday.
Good news has since emerged regarding a new signing, who has yet to feature so far.
This was confirmed by assistant head coach Khalil Ben Youssef at the post-match press conference following Tuesday's 1-0 win over Richards Bay FC.
"[Nkanyiso] Shinga is ready. He received his card to play, but still has some fitness work to do with our fitness coach," said Ben Youssef.
"[Flavio] Silva received his card yesterday, but it was late because we had already decided on the plan for the game.
Ethan [Chislett] was sick last week, so he didn't make any training sessions this week. Therefore, he is not with us in this game, but he is ready to play as well," he added.
Ben Youssef also confirmed that head coach Nasreddine Nabi will also be back in the dugout to lead out the side after being given time to attend to a family emergency.
It remains to be seen if newly signed Etiosa Ighodaro, Luke Baartman, and Asanele Velebayi will be ready soon enough to make the squad for the big match, with just six days to prepare.
The latter two also have a legal matter involving their former club Cape Town Spurs hanging above their heads.
