Nabi has his say on Chiefs' new signings

Head coach Nasreddine Nabi has issued his verdict on new signings Thabo Cele and Glody Lilepo, who made their debuts during the Soweto Derby clash against Orlando Pirates.

The Phefeni Glamour Boys suffered a 1-0 defeat in heartbreaking fashion as Patrick Maswanganyi's added time spot kick ensured The Buccaneers take all three points in front of a sold-out FNB Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

With Chiefs hit by a string of injuries that ruled out Ashley du Preez, Edson Castillo and Wandile Duba among others, the match gave a chance for Nabi to field the club's latest acquisitions.

Cele and Lilepo were brought on in the 60th minute to play the remaining 30 minutes of the match and make a first impression on the technical team and the Amakhosi faithful, while Tashreeq Morris missed out due to suspension.

"I believe that, for the time they were on the field, they showed some good quality," Nabi told journalists after the match.

"But you have to understand that they only trained for four days after long trips from Europe.

"They were not training regularly before they came, but in the few minutes that they played, you can see there is a qualification in them.

"We are happy with the players that came on.

"We take this opportunity to thank the management and the board for those signings,"
