Last out and first in for Chiefs discards

The challenges of finding the suitable contract have remained the same for all players released by Kaizer Chiefs in this window, though the last one out could be first in for the next job.

Amakhosi have chosen not to continue with the services of Tebogo Potsane, Ranga Chivaviro, Sabelo Radebe, Mduduzi Mdantsane, Edmilson Dove, Edson Castillo, and Bongani Sam.

They have all not had confirmed deals for their next jobs as days continue rolling into weeks and months since they headed for the exit at Naturena.

Sam hasn’t found a new taker with his case worsened by the fact that he last played in December 2023.

Castillo has been linked with a move to Libyan club Asswehly.

Mdantsane and Radebe are weighing up their options.

Then, with Chivaviro, there has been reports that he turned down an option of joining Iraqi Stars League club Al-Mosul SC.

Dove has options back home in Mozambique, but they will come with less money, which is why he has been hesitant.

Potsane – who was the last out at the Glamour Boys – is in a more promising situation as he is training with Siwelele FC.

There has been talks of a contract after two years of struggles at the Soweto giants.

Last season, he only played eight games and was without neither a goal nor an assist after a first campaign in which he played 11 games.

So, in total, he played less the equivalent of just under 10 games (880 minutes) over the two years that he was at Chiefs.

The 31-year-old was then released due to performance-related reasons.
