Cape Town City chairman John Comitis has thrown his support behind the newly-established the African Club Association.
The Confederation African Football (CAF) this week unveiled the new body that will seek to ensure clubs across the continent are 'commercially competitive'.
South Africa's Premier Soccer League have long been hailed as the stand-out and most professional entity that matches European standards, but have had issues like fixture congestions which Comitis hopes a body like the ACA will solve.

"The PSL lead the way when it comes to a structured league, organised league and a well financed league, plus on a broadcast side and on sponsorship side at all levels, clubs and the league itself," Comitis told Marawa Sports Worldwide.
"So, we got something very valuable to protect and if there's a body that we can put our concerns on when there are concerns it is a positive thing. So, this for example AFL (African Football League) new league that has surfaced and that has seen inconsistency in fixtures.
"You can see already now Sundowns is already five games behind (before their match on Wednesday with SuperSport United) and it's only an eight-team league so where you do you voice your concerns around these things?
"So perhaps this ACA will attend to those kinds of things and make sure that the strength of African football is built on solid foundations of solid leagues in every country.
"You know, no club in Africa became the club they are on the continent but became the club they are within their own country first," Comitis added.
The City boss along with other club presidents and managers will be at the official launch of the ACA in Cairo on Thursday.
