Wits coach Gavin Hunt doubts Confederation Cup progress following loss to Azam

Wits lost 3-0 to Azam at Bidvest Stadium this past weekend, and will contest the return leg of the first round tie in Tanzania on Saturday.

"It's over now," Hunt says.

"You need to win 4-0 there. If you can't score one here how are you going to win by scoring four there? Now we have to do what we have to do to concentrate where our strengths lies and that's where we will concentrate."

Hunt also defended his decision to play a second-string team as he reserved his key players for their league match against Orlando Pirates on Wednesday.

"What do you want me to say... There is not much I can say about it. We had three or four open chances, open goals and we didn't score. They had three chances and they scored and we are disappointed about that. We had four open goals, taps in and we didn't score.

"We are battling all over the show and the squad is very thin and we have to use our squad. It is important to use the squad."

The Students are second on the Absa Premiership table with 45 points from 22 games - seven points behind Mamelodi Sundowns.
