SuperSport's Reneilwe Letsholonyane unsurprised by Sipho Mbule cracker in Confederation Cup final

According to Letsholonyane, the 19-year-old Mbule scores goals like that in training and banged one in leading up to the first leg match in Lubumbashi this past Sunday.

Mbule’s goal, in a 2-1 defeat, is an important one for Matsatsantsa and they will be hoping it goes a long way in securing them the title when they play the return leg at Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturday (20h15).

“It was his first goal and it was an important one for the club. During the week when we were preparing for the game he scored the same goal in training,” Letsholonyane tells snl24.com/kickoff.

“It’s a true example of when they say ‘how you train is how you play’. He took the same situation at training and he took it into the game. I am happy for him and I was not surprised with the goal he scored.”

Letsholonyane, who will return from a suspension when they meet the DRC giants on Saturday, has advised Mbule to keep his feet on the ground.

“Like any other youngster at SuperSport, he has the potential to be a top player in the future. But it does not just take one goal to be the best in the country,” the former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder says.

“He needs to stay humble, keep working hard and he must keep learning in every session and game he has. He must be focused on where he wants to go, because he has not achieved anything yet.”

Letsholonyane is likely to start in midfield alongside Mbule and captain Dean Furman.

Injured players Teboho Mokoena and Thabo Mnyamane were being assessed ahead of the final.
