SuperSport's Jeremy Brockie clocking up the miles ahead of Confederation Cup final with TP Mazembe

Matsatsantsa play TP Mazembe on Sunday afternoon in the first leg of the final of the CAF Confederation Cup in the DR Congo’s second largest city.

For Brockie who flew from Johannesburg to Wellington, New Zealand via Australia for his country’s unsuccessful inter-continental play-off first leg match of the World Cup qualifiers against Peru, he has had to face a demanding travelling schedule across the world.

As an unused substitute in the first leg last Saturday morning (05h15 SA time) in Wellington, Brockie was in a city that is 11 hours ahead of the time at his base in South Africa (GMT +13).

Since the match he has had to fly to Lima, Peru where they played the hosts in the return leg on Thursday morning (04h15 SA time). Lima is seven hours behind South Africa (GMT -5).

From the Pacific coast city of Lima he will have to put up with five hours of travel to Sao Paulo, Brazil (4 hours behind SA time) from where he will travel overnight (9 hours) to Johannesburg arriving on Friday morning - having been to three continents in under a week.

Straight after the flight from Sao Paulo he will get onto another one heading to Lubumbashi with the rest of his teammates.

Since he left Johannesburg for Wellington, Brockie has not only loaded up an incredible flight time he has also put in thousands of kilometres in different time zones and weather conditions which will test his physical state on Sunday.

Brockie has been the leading man for SuperSport in the Confederation Cup this year and is sure to finish as the competition’s top scorer as he already has 10 goals to his name.
