SuperSport United TP Mazembe CAF Confederation Cup Group D match report

The first-half was a rather tepid affair and although the side's respective goalkeepers produced saves, both were required to make only very routine interventions.

The home side started relatively well with Thuso Phala bursting forwards and feeding Thabo Mnyamane who had the ball taken from him in the box.

Phala also had a go from range and Matampi turned it behind but indications were it was heading just wide in any case.

At the other end Williams made a comfortable save after the ball made it's way into the box following a failed free-kick attempt and later rushed off his line to grab the ball ahead of Ben Ngita who was in on goal.

Five minutes into the second-half Mnyamane arrived at the back post just a second too late to turn hom Modiba's deflected cross.

SuperSport looked in control of proceedings for large portions of the second stanza but poor decision making in attacking areas proved their achilles heel.

Elsewhere, Horoya beat CF Mounana and move ahead of both SuperSport and Mazembe to occupy top spot in Group D.
