Mbule scored a crucial away goal in the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup final against TP Mazembe in Lubambashi on Sunday, having been thrust into the team in the absence of the suspended Letsholonyane.
The 19-year-old looked assured on the ball in his first start in the continental second-tier event, illuminating the occasion with a thunderous strike into the top corner past Mazembe goalkeeper Ley Matampi.
The Harmony Academy graduate also netted for United's MultiChoice Diski Challenge team in a 3-0 rout of Reserve League champions Mamelodi Sundowns in Umlazi the previous weekend.
"I have players who like to play football on the floor," Mbule told snl24.com/kickoff after the defeat of Downs at King Zwelithini Stadium.
"They show me at training sessions and I'm taking that to use to my advantage.
"I'm happy with how things are unfolding because I always work hard. Playing with players like 'Yeye' [Letsholonyane] and Dean Furman gives you the platform to go forward."
Mbule was assigned the prized number 10 jersey for the MDC side and feels a resonsibility to honour the gesture.
"Wearing jersey number means a lot; it means you are the general," said Mbule.
"I think the club has given it to me to lead the team in the MDC. I'll repay the club's faith they have shown in me with performances and by scoring some goals as well."
Letsholonyane is back from suspension for the Confederation Cup decider at Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturday, with Matsatsantsa needing to overturn a 2-1 deficit.
