SuperSport United Morgan Gould reserves special praise for interim coach Kaitano Tembo

Tembo has been left to pick up the pieces after coach Eric Tinkler handed in his resignation a fortnight ago.

Tembo, a former Matsatsantsa player, has previously taken the role of coach on an interim basis and he has embraced the challenge of getting the team to finish in the top eight after a difficult campaign.

“We have a good coach who has taken over. He has been with the team forever. He is the one who introduced me and he is the one who taught me the stuff I know today and he is still teaching me today,” Gould says.

“He has played for the club and he understands the culture and he wants to achieve a lot.

“To me he is not a new coach and I think he is underrated. He can’t work with so many people, like Pitso [Mosimane], the late Tommy Madigage, Gavin Hunt. For him to be in the same position and still be as humble as he is. If that was someone else he would be arrogant and he would be getting the hot seat.”

SuperSport will take on Angolan side Petro de Luanda in the CAF Confederation Cup first round, second leg clash at Lucas Moripe Stadium today (18h00). The first leg ended in a goalless draw.
