Rooi Mahamutsa: Pirates are underdogs for CAF Confederation Cup semi-final with Al-Ahly

Pirates won the first leg 1-0 in Soweto last weekend, while Tunisia's Etoile du Sahel thrashed Zamalek 5-1 in their respective semi-final opener.

“We expect a tough encounter in Egypt. Al-Ahly is a good side but they are under pressure to produce a positive result at home. I am expecting a more attacking approach from them and a high tempo match as well, which should suit our style of play. We plan to be resolute in our defence, punish any mistakes they make when they come at us and look to create goal scoring opportunities,” Mahamutsa said.

“We understand that we head into Egypt as underdogs. From our experiences in the 2013 Champions League Final we know their fans have a strong presence and create a hostile environment at the stadium. But look whether the stadium is empty or full it doesn’t matter to us, we are focused on our game plan and we will fight to make it into the Final.”

In team news, Happy Jele is back from suspension but fellow defender Siyabonga Sangweni will serve the second instalment of a two-game ban.
