Muhsin Ertugral wants Black Aces to qualify for African CAF competition

Despite failing to collect any points during their last two games, Aces have shown great improvement in their performances this season under the guidance of Ertugral.

AmaZayoni are in position four on the log after 21 games as they continue their best Absa Premiership season in a long time.

Ertugral won the CAF Confederation Cup – then known as the Mandela Cup or African Cup Winners' Cup – in 2001 with Kaizer Chiefs. The Turkish-born coach is now determined to take Aces into Africa.

“We really want to go there. I feel since 2001 when I won the cup, since then there has been no team that won it from South Africa [since CAF abolished the tournament in 2004],” says Ertugral.

“It is important that South African teams go and play in Africa and even my team to go there and learn. South Africa is a beautiful country, we also need to go and see the other side of Africa and how football is played,” he adds.
