Medeama SC place Augustine Evans Adotey in charge for Sundowns return leg

Strand resigned and was reported missing after the Ghanaian club’s 3-1 defeat at Lucas Moripe Stadium in the first leg of their CAF Confederation Cup play-off match on Saturday.

Armah has put technical director Augustine Evans Adotey in charge of team affairs in the wake of the 33-year-old Strand’s departure.

“It is good for us, whatever has happened is very good for us,” Ghanasoccer.net quotes Armah as saying.

“Before our departure I didn’t even want to go with him but the CEO pleaded on his behalf so if he has left, fine.

“We are going all out to qualify for the next stage, coach Adotey will handle the team.”

The second leg is on Wednesday 18 May in Sekondi, with kick-off at 17h00 South African time.
