Sundowns are traveling on Sunday to Ghana for the second leg of their African Confederation Cup tie against Medeama, seeking to keep intact a 3-1 aggregate lead from last Saturday’s first leg and to qualify for the group phase.
The match at Takadi is scheduled for Wednesday after which Sundowns head home for the final league game of the season against Platinum Stars at Atteridgeville on May 21.
It is where they will receive their Premier Soccer League trophy and winners’ medals after the completion of the match.
But the club are battling to find flights back for their traveling squad from Accra to Johannesburg and unless they do might have to seek a postponement of the game or field players who stayed behind in South Africa.
Sundowns officials said the club was hard at work trying to obtain seats back home next Thursday May 19 or Friday May 20.
But they will not have any time to properly prepare for their meeting with third placed Platinum Stars.
