The Buccaneers reached their second continental cup final in three years when they went all the way in the CAF Confederation Cup, only to lose the decider against Tunisian side Etoile du Sahel.
Their exploits mean South Africa will again have four representatives across the two CAF competitions next year, and Jele wants other teams to also play their part.
“I won't talk about the other four teams, but all I can say is we did our part,” he says. “We hope that when they get their chance they will represent the country well.”
Jele says he still can’t believe that Pirates lost another cup final.
“We are still disappointed because we don't understand how we lost the game. But it’s part of the game and there is nothing we can do about it. It will take time to heal, but we will see what happens going forward.”
