Clayton Daniels says SuperSport are a stronger team after CAF Confederation Cup journey

Matsatsantsa lost 2-1 in the two-legged final to Congolese giants TP Mazembe, earning recognition for their run by being shortlisted for the CAF Club of the Year award.

Daniels says the Tshwane giants will now focus their energies on chasing Premiership gold.

"Well we are also proud we could make it that far," Daniels tells snl24.com/kickoff.

"We should take out all the positive out of our journey in Africa which is never easy, travelling for days back and forth, sacrificing a lot away from the family. But we grew stronger as a team as time went, so we are looking forward now to the league because that's our next objective.

"We gave it our best in both games. The performance was there, the effort was there, the fight was there... not one player didn't give it their all and we are proud as a team."

SuperSport will resume their league campaign against Ajax Cape Town at Mbombela Stadium on Wednesday (19h30).

Eric Tinkler's charges trail log leaders Baroka by nine points but with a mammoth seven games in hand owing to their continental commitments.
