CAF Confederation Cup match report CS Sfaxien vs Platinum Stars

Sfaxien were on top from the start, taking an early lead through Kingsley Sokari after Dikwena goalkeeper Steven Hoffman failed to deal with a tame long-range strike.

Robert Ng’ambi had a chance to draw level minutes later, yet his shot from distance was palmed away by gloveman Rami Jeridi.

Siyabonga Zulu was then found guilty of bringing down opposite number Meher Hanachi in the box, as Karim Aouadhi stepped up to convert from the spot to double the host's lead.

Finding it difficult to create any chances against the well-drilled Tunisians, Dikwena conceded another goal just seven minutes into the second stanza as Hanachi headed home following poor defending by Zulu.

Hoffman was kept busy in the dying minutes, needing to be at his best to deny Hanachi his brace and keep the scoreline somewhat respectable, as Cavin Johnson’s side slipped to a second defeat in as many games.

Stars XI: Hoffman, Mnguni, Mwedihanga, Mlilo, Zulu, Tshabalala (Links 66'), Mathe, Ng'ambi, Mabena, Ntuli, Shilongo (Senne 82').
