CAF Confederation Cup match report CF Mounana vs SuperSport United

Grant Kekana opened the scoring early in the first-half and Adbou Djamilo Atchabao levelled matters before Thabo Mnyamane's brace saw SuperSport go into the break in control.

Jeremy Brockie came in off the bench to score on either side of goals from Hamidou Sinayoko and Louis Autchanga.

The visitors applied all of the early pressure and were duly rewarded for their endeavours with the openedr inside five minutes as Bradley Grobler flicked on a corner and Kekana drilled home.

Having been in the ascendency early Matsatsantsa conceded control to the Gabonese outfit and Autchanga saw his snap shot saved whilst Biyoghe's searing long-range effort flew over.

Parity was eventually restored in the 27th minute as Atchabao arrived in the six yard area to poke home Ilamba Biyeme's low cross.

The equaliser jolted SuperSport back to life and Fagrie Lakay arrowed a shot goalwards but Moto was equal to the effort.

The advantage was regained by the South African outfit with just over ten minutes remaining before the interval as Mnyamane drove forward and tucked home after his initial effort was parried back into his path.

Mnyamane managed a second five minutes later as he combined with Aubrey Modiba who ran to the byline and cut it back for him to beat the goalkeeper on the half-volley.

Immediately after the restart Mounana substitute Guedegbe let fly from distance but saw his shot fly just over.

An even better chance came the way of the hosts minutes later as Clayton Daniels was penalised for handball in the box and a penalty was awarded.

However, Reyaard Pieterse guessed the right way to ensure that he kept out Autchanga and kept his side's two-goal cushion intact.

Pieterse was again at the centre of the action in the 55th minute as he pulled off a brilliant save to deny Biyoghe.

The hosts were made to pay for their inabilty to make their chances count as substitute Brockie had the simple task of tapping home after Lakay ended his powerful run by serving it up on a platter for the Kiwi hitman.

The smattering of home fans thought their side had pulled one back but it turned out that the burly Guedegbe had fouled Daniels in the process of putting the ball in the back of the net.

Their cheers were legitimate in the 80th minute after Mounana were awarded another penalty and Sinayoko stabbed home after Pieterse saved the initial effort.

The defecit was reduced to just a single goal in stoppage time as Autchanga cracked his shot into the roof of the net but any thoughts of a comeback were soon dashed.

Straight from the restart SuperSport carved out a route towards goal and Mnyamane made up for his quiet second-half as he set up Brockie who finished calmly for a second time.
