Zakri has been slow in his take-off on the scoring charts and is still to break the ice since he arrived from ASEC Mimosas at the beginning of the season as a hyped up signing.
“I just need the first goal now but you need to understand that it has not been easy for me adjusting here at my new team,” he tells snl24.com/kickoff.
In the games that he has played Zakri has shown the qualities to be effective at Sundowns.
“This has all been a new experience for me all together because this is a new team, new players, new food, new language, so I have had to adjust to almost everything. In the beginning it was really difficult for me because I didn’t even understand what the coach was saying when he spoke because of my limitations in English. But then now that I have started to understand the language better my level has improved and I know all too well that if I score my first goal then more goals will come my way,” he explains.
Having now been registered for this year’s CAF Champions League after arriving cup-tied last year, the 25-year-old is available for selection for tonight’s match against Ugandan champions KCCA.
“I am happy to be playing for the best team in Africa and I want to put in my experience. The Champions League is always my target because I played in this competition at my previous team,” he adds.
