Sergo dos Santos warns Kaizer Chiefs not to defend against Wydad Casablanca

Amakhosi will need to make good use of their home ground advantage when they host the Moroccan giants at FNB Stadium on Saturday evening (18h00).

Last week, the South African football giants managed to beat the two-time continental champions in their own backyard, with a solitary goal from Serbian striker Samir Nurkovic.

Chiefs former coach Sergio dos Santos says they will be playing into Wydad's hands if they apply defensive-minded tactics on Saturday.

"No, no, no. I don't think they must park the bus, you don't want to do that. Don't do that," dos Santos tells snl24.com/kickoff.

"Because, if you park the bus, you give them a chance to come forward at you all the time. If you park the bus, I think you'll be making a big mistake. We must play the Kaizer Chiefs way – play with the ball, use your talent but be disciplined."

Dos Santos says judging by the opposition's record in the Champions League, the fixture is far from over.

"You certainly can't celebrate, that I can assure you, because based on what we saw, Kaizer Chiefs was lucky to win the game there. Bvuma was unbelievable, he made unbelievable saves," he adds.

"So that means this team is dangerous. So there's no celebration here at all. As a matter of fact, forget about that result. They must be on their toes here at home because this team is going to be very, very difficult. There is no question about it.

"The boys must be 100% focused, and they are going to have to work very, very hard. This team is going to come out; they've got nothing to lose; they've got the pedigree; they've got the record; they are a tough team.

"That Kaizer Chiefs got the result there, psychologically it is very important, but that team is going to come out firing on all cylinders here. We must be very, very disciplined when we don't have possession, and when we have possession we have to make sure we are playing in the right areas not to expose ourselves.

Certainly Chiefs have a team to attack but be careful that you don't get too excited, too many players go forward and then they counter-attack and they catch you.

"The difficult part is done, now we've got something in the pocket, we must pull up the zip and keep it there."
