Rhulani Mokwena guards against Sundowns complacency vs Jwaneng Galaxy CAF Champions League

Sundowns go into the second leg of the CAF Champions League tie at Loftus Stadium (16h00) with the advantage after beating Galaxy 2-0 in Botswana about a fortnight ago.

The Brazilians are expected to comfortably advance to the group stage of the biggest tournament in Africa once again.

Sundowns are currently on cloud nine after beating Orlando Pirates 1-0 in the DStv Premiership this past weekend and will look forward to repeating the same kind of performance against the team from Lobatse.

"We are going to the CAF fixture with a lot of confidence of course, an important three points against direct opponents for the championship in the domestic competition," Mokwena told the media.

"But now that chapter is closed and we have to try to mentally make sure we are in the right space and try to prepare for that."

"Two nil is always a dangerous scoreline," he continues. "Particularly when you are only half through and we take it as 45 minutes, with the next 90 minutes being the second 45 minutes to see us to the group stages.

"We have to make sure that mentally we approach the game with the right mindset, right character and personality of the team. We have to make sure we prepare technically and tactically for the game.

"Complacency is important, we have to guard against that. We are not in a favourable situation. Of course when you are favourable, you then find a lot of comfort and because then you find comfort... comfort breathes complacency and you don't want to be in that space where you are complacent.

"We've got to be very responsible, we've got to be diligent, because we carry the responsibility of one of the biggest clubs on the African continent with huge expectations."
