Two former players who helped Kaizer Chiefs win the Mandela Cup in 2001 discuss whether the current squad is strong enough to beat the best in Africa.
Chiefs are sitting at the top of the Absa Premiership table with a nine-point gap separating them with the next closest side, Orlando Pirates.
If the Glamour Boys finish the season in position one or two they will play in next season's CAF Champions League.

The likes of Itumeleng Khune, Daniel Akpeyi, Daniel Cardoso, Eric Mathoho, Ramahlwe Mphahlele, Willard Katsande, Anthony Akumu, Khama Billiat, Bernard Parker, Lazarous Kambole and Leonardo Castro have all played in CAF competitions either with their former clubs or national teams.
"Yes, I think definitely they can compete," Rene Richards tells snl24.com/kickoff.
"I think with the team's confidence and everybody working as a team, it plays major when it comes to big competitions. Because everybody including the coach has to expand positively."

Marco Mthembu believes the club will need more depth to cope with the pressure of being in many places at once.
"Yes they are, but they need depth to survive the brutal demands of competing in the CAF Champions League, so they can balance them with domestic fixtures," Mthembu argues.
"We played in the Mandela Cup, it's a different format from the CAF Champions League.
"If you recall, we struggled to balance coming back home. That's because players were sold and transferred to other teams."
