Pitso Mosimane suffers huge double blow ahead of Al Ahly's CAF Champions League final

Al Ahly head coach Pitso Mosimane has suffered a double blow with Kahraba and Saleh Gomaa testing positive for Covid-19 ahead of the CAF Champions League final.

The Red Devils are set to face Abu Qir tomorrow in the Egyptian Cup quarter-final and the Zamalek in the final of Africa's elite club competition next Friday.

However, Mosimane will need to make do without star forward Kahraba and playmaker Saleh Gomaa, whom he's been working with during private sessions in order to build his fitness.

Gomaa is widely regarded as one of Egypt's most naturally gifted talents but has failed to live up to expectations and featured just six minutes under Mosimane's predecessor Weiler during the 2019/20 season.

With both testing positive in the latest mandatory coronavirus tests before their latest clash, both will need to be isolated for the next 14 days - ruling them out for the final against the White Knights.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns boss will now look towards Mohamed Magdy, Hussein El Shahat, Junior Ajayi and Marwan Mohsen to lead the attack after showing impressive form since his arrival.

Ahly take on Abu Qir at the iconic Borg El Arab Stadium at 17h00 (GMT+2) before the mouthwatering spectacle against Jamie Pacheco's side at the same venue next Friday at 21h00 (GMT+2).
