Pitso Mosimane gives respect to Gavin Hunt

Hunt helped Kaizer Chiefs qualify for the semi-finals for first time in their history after beating Simba SC 4-3 on aggregate.

Amakhosi will now meet Wydad Casablanca in the last four, with the winner set to take on either Al Ahly or Esperance in the final.

Hunt might not be doing well with Chiefs in the domestic league but he still deserves respect for his experience and successful history in football, according to Mosimane.

"I am not going to point at Gavin Hunt because I respect him. You know why? Because Gavin Hunt has won three titles and a lot of trophies. So why should I disrespect Gavin Hunt?" asked Mosimane.

"He has got experience. He might not do well in the league but he knows how to win games. We have been there. We just don't do phapha [talk too much], we have experience in these things. We know how to win a match."

Meanwhile, despite the disturbing scenes in Atteridgeville on Saturday, Mosimane still holds high respect for Mamelodi Sundowns.

Mosimane was subjected to a barrage of insults when the Al Ahly bus arrived at Lucas Moripe Stadium for their match on Saturday and was verbally abused by soccer fans clad in The Brazilians' colours.

The Chloorkop-based side later issued an apology to Al Ahly.

'Jingles' commented: "I have respect for Mamelodi Sundowns, the team I love so much. I have worn the jersey of this team. I have driven the team alone for eight years."
