After Pyramids FC knocked Orlando Pirates out of the CAF Champions League, a former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder has rated the Egyptian side's chances of upsetting the Tshwane giants.
Pyramids booked their spot in the final at the expense of Pirates, beating them 3-2 on aggregate in the semi-finals.

Sundowns, on the other hand, had the toughest opponent they could get in the semis, the defending and record champions Al Ahly.
Miguel Cardoso's charges also could only secure a 0-0 stalemate in the semi-finals first leg at home, but a 1-1 draw in the capital of Egypt was enough to see them through.
After watching Pyramids against the Soweto giants, former Sundowns man Brent Carelse opened up on the visitors' chances at Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Saturday.
"They're a good team. They're not in the final for nothing. They have a good structure, they play similar to other North African teams, where defensively they don't want to give anything away," Carelse said.
"But, at the same time, I was a little bit disappointed in Pirates because I think Pirates should have beaten them over two legs. They had enough chances.
"I think if they were a little bit more clinical, we would be looking at an all-South African final over the weekend. But, at the same time, I must give Pyramids their due, they stuck it out, they fought for that win."
The former midfield hard man has backed his ex-team to come back home with the trophy and second star over the two legs.

"On paper, Sundowns is obviously the favourites, but I think they will prove it on the field. The boys look hungry, they also know this is a great opportunity to get the second star," says Carelse.
