Nkosingiphile Ngcobo and Lyle Lakay named in CAF Champions League Team of the Week

Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns have both had players named in CAF's Champions League best XI after the latest round of fixtures.

This week's Champions League action saw both Chiefs and Sundowns register victories over Angola's Petro Luanda and DR Congo's TP Mazembe respectively.

Amakhosi registered their first ever continental group stage win, beating Petro 2-0 at home on Saturday evening, after the Brazilians registered a famous 2-1 win in Lubumbashi to hand Mazembe a first home defeat in over 11 years.

The two sides' performances have since seen Nkosingphile Ngcobo and Lyle Lakay make this week's CAF Champions League best XI after round three of the group stage.

Despite a 2-2 draw at home to AS Vita, Pitso Mosimane's Al Ahly have two resprentatives in Mohamed Hany and Mohamed Magdy Afsha, while Vita duo of Omossolo Medjo and Makabi Lilepo also crack the nod.

Chiefs' group C rivals Wydad Athletic Club also have two representatives in Walid El Karti and Ayoub El Kaabi, while Esperance's Mohamed Ben Romdhane, MC Alger's Mouad Haddad and CR Belouizdad's Chemseddine Nessakh complete the XI.

Downs currently lead Group B with nine points from three games, while Chiefs are two goals behind second-placed Horoya as both sides have tallied four points from three games in Group C.
