Mulomowandau Mathoho warns Al Ahly ahead of CAF Champions League final

Kaizer Chiefs defender Mulomowandau Mathoho is not mincing his words a bit ahead of Saturday's CAF Champions League final declaring that this is going to be war.

Chiefs travel to Casablanca, Morocco to meet holders Al Ahly in a once-off affair set for the Mohammed V Stadium this weekend.

Amakhosi are in their maiden final and, just like they have been jumping past hurdles for the first time this season, they will be keen to complete their fairytale run by lifting the trophy which carries approximately R36 million in prize money plus a ticket to the FIFA Club World Cup.

"This means this is going to be a war," Mathoho said in hyping this tie up with the club's media team.

As strange as it might sound, Mathoho is the joint top scorer for the club in the tournament so far, along with Samir Nurkovic, with three goals which tells of just how important he is in this Chiefs set-up.

He has warned Al Ahly that for all their pedigree on the continent, they will not have it easy in this final.

"The game against Al Ahly will not be easy but one that we have prepared well for so far. This will not be easy for them, and there is no chance that they will get a walkover," he added.

"They will be surprised about the Kaizer Chiefs that they will be playing against, compared to the one that has played before. This is going to be war. We are ready for every challenge that we will face as players on the 17th.

"It means a lot for a player's career to reach the final of the Champions League. This is what you want as a player. As a club, we are proud to have reached the final of the Champions League. It means a lot that we are now amongst the teams that have been able to reach the Champions League final."

Chiefs have been in camp in Polokwane since the beginning of last week and are set to travel to Casablanca on Wednesday for this weekend's clash.
