Mamelodi Sundowns legend Mike 'Nanana' Ntombela has issued some words of advice to both the club and former head coach Pitso Mosimane.
Mosimane was a victim of abuse from Sundowns fans who took gamesmanship and rivalry to another level on Saturday when the clubs met in the CAF Champions League.
Ntombela was asked for his opinion on what transpired outside Lucas Moripe Stadium as Mosimane was subjected to insults from some of those who used to love him.
"I think it was category A of rivalry, sort of, where people do anything to unsettle the opposition but the fact that the coach was once on this side, it didn't sit well with some people when he left," Ntombela tells snl24.com/kickoff.
"This thing is part of intimidation but this one carried its own history. After my post some of the incidents within the club and Sundowns and Pitso before he left... it's a little bit messy. I think Sundowns needs to rise up and maybe the coach must not continue with what he was intending to do, to write a book or what, because that's not what is going to be good to him.
"Because me too when I wrote my book, I could have included what happened to me and all that. But I didn't want my life to have me complaining about another guy or something. Because then it reduces you, it brings you down.
"Sundowns as well must rise up because in their letter... it's Pitso who is feeling the pain but you don't talk about him in the letter. The president is a president of CAF so we can't throw negative stuff towards him. It can be handled much better."
