Pedro Amor – who is on the books of Royal AM in the GladAfrica Championship – is the only Angolan footballer playing in South Africa at present, and is one of only a handful to ever play the PSL, after Armando Satchipa, Jose Pereira, Joao de Oliveira and Antonio 'Keto' Correia.
As Chiefs prepare to host the 15-time Angolan champions in their third round Champions Leage group C encounter at FNB Stadium on Saturday evening, Amor has warned that the Soweto giants will not have it easy.
The 20-year-old defender came through the ranks of Petro's biggest rivals Primeiro de Agosto, so knows all too well about Chiefs' opponents this weekend.
"With the kind of players that Petro have, they have the ability to beat Chiefs and will be coming here to play for a win. They have national team players as well," Pedro Amor tells snl24.com/kickoff.
"Petro is a massive team in Angola. You know the big teams in Angola are Primeiro de Agosto and Inter [Grupo Desportivo Interclube]. You talk about Petro, then you are talking about a big team in Angola, which is used to winning matches and is at the top again at this moment.
"I have friends Picas and Danilson playing there. They also have the Brazilian striker Tiago Azulao, who has already played for many teams and has experience.
"There is also Tony from Brazil who is also a good player. Petro is a good team and they also have players from Ghana."
Just like Chiefs, the Angolans have started off the Champions League group stage slowly by losing both of their opening games against Wydad Casablanca and Horoya but will have reason to fancy their chances against a winless Amakhosi side in their last eight games.
Petro are 15 times Angolan champions.
