"It's an amazing feeling for me, honestly, to qualify for the CAF Champions League final," he said in an interview with the club. "When I was a kid, I was always dreaming to play in such big games and that dream is going to come true. I can't wait to play that game.
"It means a lot to me and my career because, since I have started playing football, this is something that I was working hard for and I really can't wait for that game to start."
"Also, it means a lot for the club as well and I'm really happy to be part of such a big team like Kaizer Chiefs. It's just the second year for me of being part of this big club and it's a really big achievement.
"I mean, for sure, it means a lot for all of South Africa, especially to all our Amakhosi family out there, amazing fans and I am really happy that I can be part of this history and be part of this big club and to be able to represent South Africa [in the final] as well."
The 29-year-old also stressed that, while he and his teammates would need to respect Ahly in the final, they were more focussed on their own preparations before sharing a parting message to the club's supporters.
"One thing that we are missing the most in the stadiums is our amazing supporters, the Amakhosi family, I really hope they are all well and safe at home and I hope that I am going to see them soon in the stadiums. Amakhosi for life."
