Kaizer Chiefs' leading goalscorers in the 2020/21 CAF Champions League

Ahead of next weekend's CAF Champions League final between Kaizer Chiefs and Al Ahly, here is a look at Amakhosi's leading goalscorers in the competition this season.

Chiefs' historic Champions League campaign got underway back in November when the club recorded a 1-0 aggregate win over Cameroon's PWD Bamenda in the preliminary stages of the qualifying round, courtesy of a solitary goal from defender Erick Mathoho.

That result secured the Soweto Giants a two-legged clash against Angolan side 1º de Agosto in the first qualifying round, which was settled by a lone goal from forward Leonardo Castro to fire Amakhosi to the group stage of the competition for the first time in the club's history.

Drawn alongside Wydad Casablanca, Horoya and Petro de Luanda, Chiefs emerged from the group in second place after scoring five goals across their six group stage matches, with Mathoho netting a second and Happy Mashiane, Bernard Parker, Daniel Cardoso and Khama Billiat adding their names to the scorers' column.

The club's progression into the knockout stages of the competition saw star forward Samir Nurkovic spark to life with a brace in the first leg of Chiefs' 4-3 aggregate win over Tanzanian giants Simba in the quarter-finals, while Mathoho and Castro added another goal to their respective tallies as well.

Nurkovic then proved to be the difference-maker again as Arthur Zwane's charges claimed a narrow, yet historic 1-0 aggregate win over Wydad in the semi-finals in June, securing their spot in the final of the competition for the first time ever.
