Amakhosi have not been converting their chances this season without the Serbian marksman, who is yet to play this season after being on the sidelines following groin surgery.
There had been hope that Nurkovic could soon return to the fold after returning to training recently but Hunt has revealed that the striker is still not available. Reeve Frosler and Kearyn Baccus are also ruled out.
"I think Samir is out still, and other than that it's still Reeve Frosler who is our first-choice right-back," Hunt said on the club's official channels ahead of the CAF Champions League first-round clash against Primeiro de Agosto this evening (18h00)
"So our main striker [is out], which has been a big blow to the club because [of our] lack of goals as well, so certainly those are big blows. Baccus has also got a leg strain so he's also not available."
With two legs to be played, Hunt understands the importance of winning at home and making sure they avoid conceding a goal as they look to qualify for the group stage for the first time.
"We have two legs, so the plan is obviously to try to win the first game and not concede and that will be the first prize, so that's the main thing.
"We play actually quite well at times so I'm not too concerned, it's obviously just the conceding of real silly goals, that's all.
"We don't have the size and depth of the squad so we can't rotate. Maybe a positional change here or there but we don't really have to rotate too much, we have enough time between games."
Hunt seems to have done his homework about the Angolans and believes they will be tough opponents as they play a different style of football compared to PSL teams.
"They are a proper football club, really well run, well organised. They play a good brand of football, a real European brand of football which is totally different to the PSL"
"I've seen their videos, a few players are still playing, so they are a very good side, they're a proper football team."
