Hlompho Kekana backs Kaizer Chiefs to reach CAF Champions League final

Mamelodi Sundowns captain Hlompho Kekana is backing Kaizer Chiefs to advance to their first ever CAF Champions League final.

Chiefs are one step away from reaching their very first Champions League final with Moroccan giants Wydad Casablanca standing in their way.

The two sides will clash in the first leg of their semifinal clash at the Stade Mohammed V on Saturday evening (kick-off at 21h00, SA time) before the second leg at FNB Stadium next Saturday.

Kekana, who has met Wydad on a few occasions in the Champions League with Sundowns, believes the Glamour Boys have a real chance to come back with the result from Casablanca.

"Well, it's a very good spot that they find themselves in. If you check, the chances are very high [of reaching the final] because Chiefs are a team that is fearless," Kekana told the media.

"They have never been in that space before, so for me they have little to lose in that match. The expectations on them are so little and it's always nice to play as underdogs.

"When you are sitting in a space where the least is expected from you – you do the business. So, I believe they stand a chance of going to the finals."

Amakhosi touched down in Morocco on Thursday on a charted plane and will be without  the services of Lebogang Manyama, Khama Billiat, Dumisani Zuma and Ramahlwe Mphahlele due to injuries.
