Ex-Al Ahly captain hails genius decision over Pitso Mosimane

Mosimane has lifted three trophies already since his arrival from Mamelodi Sundowns in September last year is firmly on course to reach the third CAF Champions League final of his career.

The two-time African Champions League winner steered them to a 1-0 win over Esperance in Rades last week and will be aiming to finish the tie off in Cairo on Saturday.

Speaking to Al Ahly TV, Mohamed lauded the Club of the Century for luring him away from the DStv Premiership champions and feels there's more on the horizon.

"Mosimane is a great coach and the decision to choose him was genius. He was the most adequate option available back at the time," Mohamed said.

"He [Mosimane] arrived at Al Ahly knowing how valuable the club is while being very familiar to the atmosphere in Africa. He will make history with time. His ambition is to win the Club World Cup."

Mosimane has won 16 trophies over his glittering career since his first head coach role with SuperSport United back in 2001.
