CAF Champions League wrap:

Wydad Casablanca leaned towards a spot in the CAF Champions League quarter-finals with a 2-0 win over AC Horoya in a Group C clash on Saturday evening.

After completely putting Kaizer Chiefs to the sword last Sunday in Burkina Faso, the Moroccan side looked to do the same to Horoya and made a perfect start through Ayoub El Kaabi's stunner.

Substitute Simon Msuva, who also netted against Chiefs, put the icing on the cake at the death to leave the group wide following Chiefs' win over Petro de Luanda in the group's other clash.

Esperance swept a ten-man Zamalek away with a thorough 3-1 victory in a thrilling Group D encounter in Rades.

Ivorian William Togui handed Esperance the lead early in the first half, but full-back Ahmed Fattoh brought the away side level before the break.

A double from Mohamed Ben Romdhane either side of the half, with one from the spot put the Egyptians out of sight as Fattoh got his marching orders in the closing minutes.

Al-Merrikh were held to a goalless draw against Tanzania's Simba SC in a keenly contested Group A clash in Sudan.

The result leaves the Tanzania's on top of the group ahead of AS Vita Club and the holders Al Ahly SC, who played to a 2-2 draw in the group's other clash.

MC Alger got their first win in Group D after getting past debutants Teungueth 1-0 in Thies.

The winning strike came in the first 14 minutes of the match via the boot of Abdenour Belkheir , as the visitors revived their chances to qualify from the group.
