Al Ahly sign Badr Banoun from Raja Casablanca in R30-million transfer

Al Ahly have announced the signing of Morocco international defender Badr Banoun in a deal worth a reported R30-million.

Banoun, 27, captained the Botola giants to the league crown and the CAF Champions League semi-final during the 2019/20 season and leaves his boyhood club with five major titles to his name.

Widely considered as one of the finest ball-playing defenders on the continent, his arrival on a four-year deal proves a major coup for the Club of the Century.

snl24.com/kickoff understands Banoun will earn a staggering R12.5-million a year at the Red Devils with a 10 percent wage increase per season.

Negotiations with the sought-after defender started three months ago and personal terms were struck in September - but the Red Devils opted to wait until Raja's season ended before concluding the move.

Banoun scored 15 goals and registered six assists in 159 games for the Moroccan giants since graduating from the club's academy back in July 2013.
