Controversial Senegalese referee Ndiaye Maguette was ignored for appointments for the second consecutive week in the CAF Confederations Cup Play-Offs round matches concluded yesterday.
Last week Maguette was again not handed any game to handle in the first leg of CAF's second-tier competition following weeks in which his name was dragged through for how he handled the 2022 Qatar FIFA World Cup qualifier between Ghana and South Africa two weeks ago.
Maguette was dubious in his handling and subsequent awarding of the penalty that handed the Black Stars the deciding goal which secured their passage into the Play-Offs round.
The long list of controversial decisions from that match then forced SAFA to file a complaint with FIFA pressing for a replay of the match on grounds that it had been unlawfully manipulated.
FIFA has since dismissed SAFA's protest.

However, Maguette has not had any appointments from CAF in the meanwhile along with the rest of his team that ran the rules in that Bafana and Black Stars game consisting of Samba El Hadji Malick, Camara Djibril and Gueye Daouda – all Senegalese.
This past weekend CAF handed a different set of Senegalese officials to handle the game between JS Saoura and Hearts of Oak won 4-0 by the Algerians.
The whistle was held by Adalbert Diouf assisted by El Hadji Abdoul Aziz Gueye and Mamadou Ngom with Alioune Sow Sandigui the fourth official.
Maguette is among the six-candidate referees from the continent and regularly officiates CAF competitions and oversaw last year's CAF Super Cup.
He has handled 10 international matches this year and has also officiated at the FIFA Club World Cup and FIFA Under-20 World Cup.
He is the son of former referee Pape Moussa Ndiaye and is employed as a physical education teacher at Maurice Delafosse Public Secondary School near the Cheikh Anta Diop University of Dakar.
