Margeman thanks Broos after claiming MOTM award

Bafana Bafana midfielder Grant Margeman has thanked head coach Hugo Broos and the technical team after picking up the Man of the Match award on Saturday.

Margeman was called up for the first time by Broos after his impressive showing initially in the COSAFA Cup tournament in the off-season, where Morena Ramoreboli was in charge and at his club SuperSport United.

The Matsatsantsa midfielder played in the centre of the park for the first time under Broos alongside Bathusi Aubaas and Sphephelo Sithole, as Bafana were held to a goalless draw by Namibia in an international friendly on Saturday.

The 25-year old thanked Broos for giving him the opportunity to represent his country after he was named Man of the Match.

"It was good, firstly I just wanna say thank you to the Almighty and also thank you to the coach and the technical staff for giving me this opportunity to represent the country again," Margeman told SABC Sport.

"I think it was a good match, both teams going at each other. I think in the second-half we were much more dominating and it's just that we couldn't get that one goal. But I think overall lots of guys did well," he said.

Margeman continued and feels they should have done better with the bulk of the possession they had against the Brave Warriors but they will have another chance to rectify where they went wrong against Democratic Republic of Congo on Tuesday in another international friendly.

"It doesn't matter if you keep the ball but you're not putting it in the back of the net. So I think that's one aspect we can go look at and work on for the next game that's taking place on Tuesday. But overall I think the guys did well today," he added.
