Mokwena had publicly questioned Broos' training methods and lack of communication after several Sundowns players returned from international duty injured.
Mokwena also raised questions at Broos' team selections after high-profile Sundowns players were snubbed in recent squads.
In an attempt to put an end to their public war-of-words, Mokwena stated that the experienced Bafana mentor tactician deserved respect.
"I don't want to get too involved in this issue with Bafana Bafana," Mokwena said.
"I think the national team coach has done exceptionally well and who am I, I mean we have got probably one of the best on the African continent in Hugo Broos.
"His reputation speaks for itself as he has won the African Cup of Nations with Cameroon.
"So who am I to question his selections or by telling him who to select.
"He has got experience and knows how he wants the team to play.
"Our duty is just to support him as long our players return from the national team injury-free."
Sundowns will contest the final of the MTN8 tournament against Cape Town City at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday.
Kick-off is at 18:00.
