Senegalese referee Maguette Ndiaye's chances of officiating at the FIFA World Cup remain uncertain with CAF selective in allocating fixtures to the controversial referee.
Ndiaye is the man at the controversy that left South Africa fuming following his dubious handling of Bafana Bafana's World Cup qualifying match away in Ghana in November won by the hosts courtesy of a penalty.

He faced accusations of match-fixing after SAFA laid a complaint with FIFA, which was eventually dismissed.
As a World Cup candidate referee CAF then named him amongst officials for the AFCON after freezing him out for two months in continental appointments.
At the AFCON he had the whistle in three games with his last match the quarterfinal tie between Egypt and Morocco when he was captured on camera pushing Atlas Lions players Munir El Haddadi to the ground during a scuffle.
His handling of the Super Eagles' last 16 defeat to Tunisia left their coach Augustine Eguavoen annoyed especially the red card handed to Alex Iwobi within minutes of coming in from the bench.
This past weekend, Ndiaye again found himself side-lined for the opening group matches of both the Champions League and Confederations Cup yet most of the top officials around the continent were handed assignments.
Fourteen matches were played in both competitions with referees as Pacifique Ndabihawenimana, Joshua Bondo and Bamlak Tessema who handled quarter-final and semi-final matches handed games to officiate.
Ndiaye's fellow countryman Issa Sy oversaw the game between Esperance and Jwaneng Galaxy in Tunisia on Saturday.
That match had Serigne Toure, Nouha Bangoura and Alioune Sow Sandigui – all Senegalese officials – also involved.
The last CAF club competition match in which Ndiaye had the whistle was in last season's Champions League semi-finals when Kaizer Chiefs defeated Wydad Casablanca away.
The biggest question facing Ndiaye is whether he can still pass the test to end up officiating at the World Cup considering the controversy hanging over his name.
