Orlando Pirates defender Thulani Hlatshwayo has made a bold prediction ahead of next weekend's Carling Black Label Cup clash against Kaizer Chiefs.
The Carling Black Label Cup is set to return next weekend after the 2020 edition was cancelled amid the Covid-19 pandemic, and Buccaneers captain Hlatshwayo has wasted little time in stoking the flames of rivalry ahead of the match.
The Bafana Bafana defender was speaking at the unveiling ceremony for Pirates' new home and away jerseys when he was asked for his prediction ahead of the highly-anticipated pre-season clash.
"We're looking forward to playing the Carling Black Label Cup," he said. "You may say it's a game that is during the off-season but between these two teams there's is never a friendly game. "We're looking forward to starting the season well. Score prediction? 3-1 to Pirates."
Hlathswayo's prediction was echoed by teammate Abel Mabaso, who similarly backed his side to record a two-goal winning margin when they meet Chiefs at the Soweto Stadium next Sunday.
"I will allude to what Tyson has said, there are no friendly games between these clubs but I will go 2-0 to us [Pirates]."
