And it was the latter who forced the opening goal and he won a penalty upon VAR review which Amr El Solia slotted comfortably home.

In what marked history in the 113-year old institution for the first game led by a non-Egyptian African, the barriers broken this evening transcended beyond a simple Egyptian Premier League football fixture.
"It is a great honour for me to be the first African Non-Egyptian manager for Al Ahly," he said in the post-match press conference.
"I am humbled after the great confidence from the club's board, headed by the legendary Captain Mahmoud El-Khatib. I will do my best to fulfil and achieve all the fans' dreams."
With the title already wrapped up before his arrival, Mosimane's next challenges are league ties against ENPPI and money-bags Pyramids FC - before the double-legged CAF Champions League semi-final against Wydad Casablanca.
